Presentation Skills Workshop

A full day intensive training workshop that is aimed at client facing designers, account managers and creative teams who pitch and present work regularly.

The workshop covers every aspect of presentation skills and begins with how to profile your audience to produce the presentation they want to hear.

Delivered by industry experts from the Core Learning team.

Course Content:

  • How to profile an audience and producing the presentations they want to hear
  • Anatomy of presentation / Sales pitch
  • How to build and structure a presentation depending on your aim
  • How to open a presentation, building credibility and capturing interest immediately
  • Handling Q&A’s and audience reaction
  • Physical presence – how to deliver a presentation stance and posture, tone of voice, language
  • how to present as a team, communicating chemistry and avoiding pitfalls

Learning Outcomes:

  • Structure your presentation around the key questions your audience want answered
  • Storyboard, outline and refine a presentation to ensure it flows and tells an impactful story
  • Identify how to stand and move properly presenting
  • Deal with nerves and master that difficult opening first slide
  • Use your voice to its capacity
  • Use advanced rhetorical techniques to stand out from the crowd
  • Present as a coherent team

Meet Caroline Hughes our Presentation Skills Expert. She is a Business Director at Mediaworks where she has worked for 18months. She began her career in London at Mindshare. She lectures, delivering detailed courses in presentation skills to a wide variety of delegates from many industries and occupations. Her Client experience is extensive working across all sectors, including Retail (Argos & M&S), Technology (LG), FMCG (Coca Cola, Mars and Unilever ) and Insurance (Liberty & Irish Life). Meet Emer Lawn, our resident Presentation Skills and Media enthusiast. She is a Director in Mediaworks, where she’s worked for the past 4 years; but no stranger to Core having worked in the Radical team before that for 6 years, developing the Company’s digital communication services. She began her career in the digital world, with agency Epsilon Interactive in New York. She has been a lecturer for the past 8 or so years, delivering training in Social Media, Online Public Relations, Media Planning and Buying and indeed most regularly now, Advanced Presentation Skills – beyond Core Learning, with organisations like the Digital Marketing Institute and Sureskills. Most recently, she has become a Licenced Business Practitioner in Nuero-Linguistic Programming through the Irish Institute of NLP, further enhancing skills she will share on our Core Learning courses. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Communications from Pace University in New York, from where she originally hails. Emer holds diverse client experience with the likes of KBC Bank, Lidl, McDonald’s, the Road Safety Authority, Liberty Insurance and more. Work with many of these brands have become award winning, with multiple Golds in the Media Awards, Digital Media Awards and beforehand, leading the Radical team to Social Media Agency of the year for multiple years in a row.
